God Wants Your to Know

God doesn’t want you wandering around in the dark, He is light and He wants you to know why He put you here.

Too Many “Lost” Christians

Once a person receives the gift of eternal life by putting their faith in Jesus alone to make them righteous in God’s sight, they are in the most important sense “found.”

We are immediately welcomed into God’s family; we are not longer lost but have been found.

That is THE most important step any of us can ever make.

But after that foundational step of being found, there are other steps in living God’s purposes and plans where far too many are wandering around trying to find their way.

What is my purpose in God?

There are different levels in living God’s purposes.

  1. Doing our best to live the general purposes of God for all believers.

All believers are called to know God and make Him known

Glorify God

Love God and Love People

Be faithful

Those types of important purposes are what all believers are called to do.

2. Our specific purposes.

This is when we narrow down exactly what is God wants us to focus on in order to best serve Him and expand His kingdom.

This is where far too many sincere believers are lost or unsure. I’ve talked with so many really good, sharp, productive professionals who are doing well in their careers but are still not confident this is what God put them here to do.

Many, according to decades of research, tolerate or hate their jobs. It’s consistently around 80% of the workforce who are in that position.

Let me ask you, does that seem like the will of a Creator who made specific, important plans for us before He even created the world? (2 Timothy 1:9)

Yes, if you live in a country where there are simply no other options, you do your work as to the Lord and try to find joy in the work by concentrating on worshipping God and helping people.

But, if there is freedom, if there are options, isn’t it far better to take advantage of that and take steps to get really clear on God’s perfect plans for your life and work?

God is a Creator. He loves doing meaningful work, purposeful, love-driven work. And we are created in His image.

The first words He ever spoke to a human being were purpose words. Created in His image, God blessed man with these words, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it (manage it ,develop it …).” Genesis 1:26–028

The purposes God had in mind for us are intended to be:

Meaningful and significant

High percentage of enjoyment and fulfillment

Expand His kingdom

Help people

Provide resources

Not something we endure. Not something we tolerate. Not hanging in there until the weekend comes or we can finally retire.

The purposes of God for our lives are in line with the nature of our heavenly Father. He is a great God and His purposes are in line with His nature!

Please don’t settle. God wants you to know where to focus your time and energy so you can do the things He had in mind when He created you.

The first step in living God’s purposes is to believe He has plans for you.

Second, do the general will of God the best you can.

Third, work through a Biblical, proven process for getting really clear on His specific purposes for you.

You really can have strong confidence you are doing what God put your here to do at each season of life.
