It is Mine

I struggle little with the goal of living a life of prayer. There are several Scriptures that clearly tell us to “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Ephesians 6:18, ESV).

That makes total sense to me. After all, Jesus said that the only way to live a God-defined fruitful life is by “abiding in Jesus as the true vine of God and we being the branches.” (John 15:5, my paraphrase).

One of the best ways to live an abiding in Christ lifestyle is by practicing praying at all times. Though I have certainly not mastered it, I get it and am intent on doing this with God’s help.

My Biggest Struggle with Prayer

Where I struggle the most with prayer is having faith that my prayers are actually changing anything..

So many of the things I’ve sincerely prayed for do not appear to have happened. When you pray with all the faith you have and it doesn’t happen: that loved one doesn’t get healed, that business doesn’t make it, or the church keeps struggling, then it’s easy to doubt those prayers are doing much good.

I know I will not understand everything that happens in this life, at least this side of heaven. But I would really like to increase my answered prayer percentages.
