The Single Greatest Key to Living the Greatest Life Possible
I became a follower of Jesus when I was eighteen years old. I was looking for purpose in life and could not find it until I read the New Testament in the Bible.
There I read Jesus’ words that He came to show us what God is really like, teach us God’s truth, and help us live abundant, overflowing, lives that maximized what we could become and do.. (John 10:10, Luke 4:18–19, Luke 12:32). Jesus came to set in motion the love, truth, peace, joy, compassion, justice, and wholeness producing Kingdom of God.
Jesus did not come to condemn people…
He came to save, liberate, heal, and empower people to be what God had planned them to be. (John 3:16–18)
Jesus demonstrated and taught that people who are not connected to God in a deep way, have no chance of life the way God intended.
I saw that Jesus died on the cross to pay for all humanities wrong doings, including mine. When He rose from the dead and then ascended into heaven, all of us could receive complete forgiveness from every sin we would ever commit and could have a life-giving, purpose-giving relationship with our Creator.
Immediate Soul Change
When I made the decision to receive Jesus’ amazing, unearned gift of eternal life by simply believing He died for my sins, and was raised from the dead, when I took a step of faith and asked Him to be my Leader and Savior, there was an immediate change in my soul.
Yes, I immediately felt relief and forgiveness for my many sins. An assurance settled in my soul that God really was my Father, he really did love me and had meaningful plans for my life. A deep sense of joy and peace settled into my heart and mind.
From that time on, I have had a strong drive to read, study, pray, meditate on, and share God’s Words found in the Bible. And one of my biggest quests, my biggest focus is:
How can we experience and keep experiencing God in such a way that it transforms us and empowers us to live His holy, unique purposes for our lives.
The entire Bible is filled with stories, poems, songs, prayers, and lots of clear teaching on how to do that.
Our Bibles have over 1,000 pages of God given words. That can feel overwhelming, UNLESS, we learn the pillar teachings of Scripture and order all those truths accordingly.
Through the years we have worked literally with several thousand people, helping them on their growth and purpose journey. As continual learners, continuing to study Scripture and Scripturally supported science and wisdom given to others, we’ve discovered some powerful, simple truths.
These are truths that can help even the busiest believer know God better, grow in Christlikeness, and live their unique purposes.
The #1 Factor in the Greatest Life Possible Is…
The starting point, the source, the first priority is why we named this ministry TruVine Mission. Every word in Scripture is God inspired, but the #1 key to living life the way God intended is found in one verse: John 15:5:
Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him bears much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
Over and over again the Bible teaches that it is impossible for us to save ourselves from sin and its consequences. It also teaches, that though doing the right practices is essential to spiritual growth, personal transformation, and doing the work God has called us to do; none of that can be done without staying connected to Jesus.
Jesus said the only way to bear real fruit (knowing God, growing in Christlikeness, and doing God’s purposes) is to abide in Him, remain in Him and He in us. He said that apart from Him we can do nothing.
How Not to Waste Your Life
This is so important to understand. Apart from Jesus, it doesn’t matter how great our accomplishments might seem, in God’s eyes they are nothing. The only things that will last into eternity are things done out of an abiding relationship with Jesus.
But when we learn to live a life of constant interaction with Him based on His words and empowered by the Holy Spirit, THEN all of us can bear MUCH FRUIT. Our lives can be rich with the life of Jesus, sharing what He gives us with those He has prepared us to reach.
