Today, we’re going to talk about what Jesus said about building an unshakeable life. And, being the brilliant teacher He is, He gives us just three main steps.

I know our world is going through a crazy time with a lot of really unbiblical changes trying to force their on us. But this world has often gone through these seasons in various places, with different people, and stressful challenges. Jesus said, “In the world you WILL have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

That’s really good news, good cheer producing news, because, as believers we are in Christ and He is in us — which means we too can overcome the world.

So what did Jesus teach on how to live a life that cannot be shaken even when the storms of life hit us hard? Let’s read it in Luke 6: 47–48

“Everyone who comes to Me, and hears My words, and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like; he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.”

3 Never Changing, Always Working Steps

1. Come to Jesus. Keep Jesus your source and your priority, always. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Everything in life is designed to run through the Son of God and because of the Cross, we have continual access to Him.

2. Listen to His words. Jesus words give us the insights of God. They show us how to live a kingdom of heaven life here on earth. They teach us, gives us wisdom, faith, healing, encouragement, power….as a matter of fact, Romans 10:6–8 tell us that the words of God can do everything Jesus did when he was on earth. Listen to His words with a receptive, hungry heart.

3. Act on His Words. Jesus said the big difference between a person who withstood the flood and the person who did not, was who took action on what Jesus said. (vs. 49). None of us does everything Jesus says, perfectly. But if we prioritize what He prioritized by taking action on it; we can withstand anything.

If life feels overwhelming sometimes or if you see areas of your life that keep being hammered down by the floods of life; prayerfully consider those three steps.

1. Am I consistently coming to Jesus, prioritizing my relationship with Him?

2. Am I listening to Him and soaking my soul in His words?

3. Am I doing what He said to do?
