Learning How Mother Teresa Thought Can Empower You to Step into Your Calling

The biggest difference maker between people in any area of life is how they think.

The old story goes, a shoe salesman was sent to a new territory. When reporting back he says, “This is a terrible place, NO ONE wear shoes.”

A new salesman was sent to that same territory. When he reported back, he said, “This is a great place, NO ONE wears shoes.”

The exact same situation. One person saw walls, the other saw open doors.

Most of Us Think We Can’t Make a Real Difference

I battle thoughts like that sometimes. I’m not famous. I don’t have great political or economic power. I don’t have millions of social media followers. What can I do?

That’s when it really helps me to read the words of people who have changed the world without having boatloads of money or political office or have a big following.

Mother Teresa comes to mind and I’ve found these quotes from here encouraging, challenging, and motivating. I hope they do the same for you.

On days when I feel like, “what’s the use? What I’m doing isn’t helping anyone.” I will slowly read these sentences and ask God to help me do some of it.

Because I do want to make a difference in the world for God and good.

Enjoy and Pray

“ We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed one.”

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

“God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try.”

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”

“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.”

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

“We shall never know all the good a simple smile can do.”

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

“Life is a challenge, we must take it.”

“Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.”
