This Bible verse provides proven insights that raise your hope. Even though it’s only one verse, this Bible verse powerfully and quickly boosts hope with its simple, powerful insights.

There are seasons when life is just hard. When I feel my hope level dropping, this is the first place I go. I’ve found it to be a constant and dependable source of hope recharging.

Hope Squeezes Out a Lot of Depression and Fear

When hope increases, it automatically squashes low level depression and lack of productivity in my life. Because these are God’s eternal words, they have the power to work in your life as well.

Hope, especially hope from and in God, has incredible power to lift us and launch us into living a great and purposeful day. String enough of those days together and you have a great week, month, then year, and yes, a great life!

How God Gives Us Hope

Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

  1. God is called “the God of hope.”

Our Creator possesses the virtue of hope in Himself.

God not only is love and has faith, He is also the originator of hope, which is a positive expectation for the future..

He looks forward to the future and when we connect with Him, He will impart and develop this wonderful trait in us.

Step #1 when your hope level is low: look to “the God of hope”

  1. God WANTS to fill us with HIS incredible hope.

How I see God plays a big role in how I interact with Him.

If I see God as a harsh, easily angered Being, it’s going to be hard for me to come to Him at all; especially when I need His help.

But Jesus taught God wants to be our Heavenly Father. Children inherit traits from their father and hope is one of the dominant traits we can receive from our Heavenly Father.

The beauty and joy of heaven come from Him, including divine hope. God wants you to have His kind of hope.

This Scripture tells us he doesn’t want you to have just a little hope. No, it is the will of God to FILL us with hope.

I love that description. He wants our souls so full of hope that despair and despondency have no room in us.

Knowing God is like this and that us being full of hope is His will gives us great confidence when we come to Him. When we need to be filled and strengthened, we have faith God will do it.

We don’t have to wonder; we KNOW He wants us to be full of His kind of hope.

3. As we believe, we increase hope along with joy and peace.

Almost everything in God’s kingdom works through some expression of faith.

Faith works with joy and peace to strengthen hope, and hope often launches faith in a divine cycle.

There are many “divine” combinations found in the Bible. The most famous would be faith, hope, and love. (1 Corinthians 13:13). These three strengthen and support each other.

The same is true of biblical hope. Joy and peace work together in filing us with hope. And hope strengthens our joy and peace. They feed each other.

What should we believe that will fill us with joy, peace, and hope?

Believe it is God’s will that we experience these things?

Faith is so often the pipeline through which God transfers His blessings to us.

Joy and peace through faith in Him, helps strengthen hope in our souls.

4. God doesn’t want us to have a little hope. He wants us to “abound in hope.”

God wants us to know beyond any shadow of a doubt that hope is His will and feeling hopeless is not.

Like when the check engine light comes on in your car, realize that anytime you feel “hopeless” that is never from God. That is a work of the Thief who Jesus said comes ONLY to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10)

The other day I saw the check engine light in my emotions. I’ve been around the block often enough to know that feeling of despair was not God’s will for me. So I read this verse, prayed this verse, and spoke this verse to myself.

I quickly felt abounding hope filling my mind and emotions, changing the course of my day.

5. You will abound, overflow, and become saturated with God’s type of hope as God, the Holy Spirit, releases His despair crushing power.

The Bible says our physical bodies are “jars of clay” and the power is from God, not us.(2 Corinthians 4:7) Though God’s life and gifts flow into our limited, aging bodies; it is still heavenly quality.

This is one of the greatest things about being a believer in Jesus. Even in these mortal bodies, we can still experience a significant measure of heavenly life now on earth. Despite the fallenness and darkness of our world, there is a pipeline from God to us through Jesus.

Jesus often said things like, “I’m giving you peace and joy that comes from ME; that is greater than the challenges of this life.” (John 15:12, 16:33). It is possible to live with a measure of heavenly peace and joy, even in a fallen and hurting world.

The same is true of hope. God wants us to experience His hope while living in this age.

Another day I was feeling my hope shrinking regarding a problem I’ve had in my life for far too long. I was tempted to give up because, well, this issue has been a long-term struggle.

But as I read this verse again, noticing the check engine light in my soul, reading this one verse, praying it, thanking God for the truth of these words, it totally changed my emotions and my outlook in seconds.’

That’s twice in just a few weeks.

We all need hope to be our best.

We need hope to press through the challenges we all face. I pray these words will empower you and fill you with God’s joy and peace as you believe and that He will fill you with His hope.

This Bible verse is a proven hope multiplier. It increases hope quickly and powerfully if you internalize it.
